How do I apply and secure a place at one of The Edge-Student Living residences?

  • Please complete the attached application form and submit it to : or apply online
  • Please specify the kind of unit you would like to live in – single or sharing in a two bedroom or three bedroom unit. It is important to note that places are limited and we can therefore not guarantee that you will be accommodated in your first preference.
  • You need to have certain documentation available which will need to be submitted with your application form:
    • Your identity form
    • You or your parent/guardian will need to sign the lease agreement.
  • Once your application has been approved you will need to pay the following amounts in order to secure and finalise your accommodation:
    • A rental deposit equal to one month’s rental
    • A key deposit
    • Your first month’s rental up front


What will be provided in my bedroom?

  • Bed
  • Wardrobe
  • Desk
  • Book shelf


What communal facilities will be provided?

  • The kitchen is equipped with the following:
    • Fridge
    • Microwaves
    • Stove (depending on site)
  • The bathroom consists of:
    • Toilet
    • Basin
    • Shower / bath (depending on site)


What else will I have access to in the building?

  • Internet access through prepaid data vouchers
  • Study/Discussion rooms
  • TV room
  • Laundry room


Can I swap rooms after a room has been allocated to me?

  • If all students in the rooms are agreeable to the swap, please apply to our administration department and they will arrange a swap with you.
  • Swaps will be done for free if arranged with us prior to the swap. A penalty free will be charged if rooms are swapped without our prior arrangement.


Can I secure a room to guarantee me a place for next year?

  • Note all rooms are provided on a first come first basis to students who have concluded a lease agreement with us.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot secure rooms for people until they have completed the relevant lease documents, provided proof of registration and paid all applicable fees.


When arriving/leaving an apartment:

  • Please get the keys from the Residence Officer on site. Please not that keys will only be issued to students who have signed a lease agreement and have paid all the required fees.
  • When you depart, please drop the key off to the Residence Officer. The Residence Officer will undertake an inspection of your room.
  • You will be held liable for any damage to the apartment or your bedroom , and this will be deducted from your deposit.
  • Please note that no deposits will be refunded unless you have”
    • Returned your key to the Residence Officer.
    • Your apartment and bedroom have been inspected and been found to be in a satisfactory condition.
    • You have provided us with banking details for the refund of deposit.
